World Mental Health Day is celebrated every year on 10 October. This year’s theme set by the World Federation of Mental Health is workplace mental health. The theme highlights the importance of addressing mental health and wellbeing in the workplace, for the benefit of people, organisations, and communities.

Foster carers are unable to differentiate between the workplace and their home lives. The wellbeing of our foster carers is a priority to us, which is why we place so much emphasis on the quality of care and support we offer to our foster families. Some of the support and services available to them include: regular supervision and support from an experienced team of professionals, access to focused support groups including fostering through the menopause and men in fostering, a membership with Fostertalk with access to 24/7 counselling and allegation support, 24/7 out of hours telephone support from a member of the social work team and mentoring from experienced foster carers.
