We are proud that Safehouses Fostering has been awarded Good overall in its recent Ofsted inspection, reflecting the positive experiences and support the children in our care and our Foster Carers receive.
The inspector identified many areas of strong practice, praising the strong sense of belonging felt by children, Foster Carers, and staff, describing Safehouses Fostering as having a genuine family feel. Noting that children’s voices are actively encouraged and listened to, helping shape both their day‑to‑day lives and the wider service. Ofsted also recognised the long‑term stability many children experience, often alongside siblings, which was considered highly beneficial to their well-being.
We were praised for our high-quality support for children’s health and education, and our Foster Carers and staff demonstrated a strong understanding of children’s physical and emotional needs, with any concerns addressed promptly.
Educational support was highlighted as a particular strength, with good progress and effective advocacy. Practical support for carers, a wide range of activities and events, and strong safeguarding practice were also recognised as making a real difference for children.
Leadership and partnership working were viewed positively, with carers reporting that they feel valued, supported and listened to.
