Foster carer support

It takes a village to raise a child, as the saying goes. Many of the Safehouses team not only work with foster families but have also been foster parents or foster siblings themselves. We know the level of support and input that is needed to provide the best possible outcomes for children and young people in care. That’s why we have built up specialised training, support and mentoring resources for all our foster carers.

Your support network

You’ll have a lot of experienced people working with you and your foster family – including a dedicated support worker and on call 24/7 emergency cover. We also work with specialists who can offer clinical and educational support.

At Safehouses, we’re a real community, so away from the formal support system, we hold regular support groups and meet ups with other foster families so you can have a chat in an informal setting.
