Training can boost your career as a foster carer and enhance the care you provide to foster children. No two placements are the same, so alongside the basic mandatory training all our foster carers are required to undertake, we also provide a range of free ongoing courses to offer support in the areas you, your birth and foster children most need.
You’ll have a lot of experienced people working with you and your foster family – including a dedicated support worker and on call 24/7 emergency cover. We also work with specialists who can offer clinical and educational support.
At Safehouses, we’re a real community, so away from the formal support system, we hold regular support groups and meet ups with other foster families so you can have a chat in an informal setting.
We are proud to be part of the Five Rivers Child Care family and we work closely together to offer a range on online resources and participation events for the children and young people we work with.
